About the (human) code crackers
The Code Breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race by Walter IsaacsonMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Quite okay, but it’s more of a summarized history of CRISPR research over the last decades, as seen through Doudna’s eyes, rather than her biography. Which is actually pretty good in my opinion. What I didn’t like very much was the excessive focus on the debate about the ethics of gene editing (almost half a book!). The topic is undoubtedly extremely serious, but after a couple of chapters, you get a feeling that Isaacson is repeating himself over and over again. I would prefer more scientific and technical details about CRISPR.
